Eftihia Mihelakis is a writer and professor in the Department of Francophone Studies and Languages ​​at Brandon University (Manitoba, Canada) since January 2017. In 2016, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Calgary, in the School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures (French and Francophone Studies Section). After a PhD in comparative literature which she obtained in 2016 in which she focused on virginity, the figure of the young girl, myth and the power of literature (Sebold, Angot, Despentes, Jelinek and Eugenides), she worked on the questions of the recidivism of the real and of the law in contemporary French literature (Angot, Darrieussecq, Iacub) as well as on the writing of sexuality and the body in virtual space. Her research tries to think on the drifts of the body and of thought, about the convergence between literary and social discourse in contemporary ideas of the desert (medical, legal, community, intellectual, artistic) especially in a minority context, about hybrid writings on mental health, rurality and the environmental crisis. Currently, she is working the literatures of depression as well as on the figure of the "feminine" heartless writer/thinker (Arendt, Gallop, Sand). She is interested in the creative process in feminist theory and in the discourse held by depressive writers in the 20th and 21st centuries, specifically through the auto-theoretical genre.

Eftihia Mihelakis est écrivaine et professeure au Department of Francophone Studies and Languages de la Brandon University (Manitoba, Canada) depuis janvier 2017. En 2016, elle a été stagiaire postdoctorale à la University of Calgary, au School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures (Section études françaises et francophones). Après une formation en littérature comparée où elle a obtenu un doctorat en 2016 qui portait sur la virginité, la figure de la jeune fille, le mythe et le pouvoir de la littérature (Sebold, Angot, Despentes, Jelinek et Eugenides), elle a travaillé sur les questions du récidivisme du réel et du droit dans la littérature française contemporaine (Angot, Darrieussecq, Iacub) ainsi que sur l’écriture de la sexualité et du corps dans l’espace virtuel. Ses recherches tentent de penser la convergence entre le discours littéraire et social sur les dérives du corps et de la pensée, les idées contemporaines du désert (médical, légal, communautaire, intellectuel, artistique) surtout en contexte minoritaire, les écritures hybrides sur la santé mentale, la ruralité et la crise environnementale. Actuellement, elle travaille sur les écritures de la dépression et entame un propjet sur la figure de l’écrivaine/penseuse sans-cœur (Arendt, Gallop, Sand). Elle s’intéresse au processus créateur dans la théorie féministe et dans le discours tenu par les écrivain.e.s dépressives dans le 20e et le 21e siècle, entre autres à travers le genre auto-théorique.
